  • Meet the Tutor: Thursday 5 October

    Mon 25 Sep 2023

You are warmly welcomed to meet your child's tutor on Thursday 5 October in a face-to-face event in College.

We are looking forward to discussing how your child has settled into Year 12 life or as a Year 13 final year student in the build up to their UCAS applications this half term, and Mock examinations in December.

During the evening there will be an opportunity to meet the BG6 team, and attend a rolling presentation on how to support your child academically and pastorally to secure that ultimate success of first choice university, apprenticeship or job.

You will be able to secure your appointment through SchoolCloud and appointments will be offered on a first come first served basis.

  • New year, new team

    Mon 18 Sep 2023

It has been a great pleasure to join the BG6 community over the last two weeks and to see the aspiration in our Year 12 and Year 13 cohorts as we continue to fulfil our school vision of Excellence for All.

I would like to outline some of the key opportunities and processes that have been added to the BG6 College offer to prepare your child for excellence in her examinations, and to secure your child's first choice post-18 destination; be this university, an apprenticeship, a degree apprenticeship, or employment.

    College Structure:

We have increased capacity and the structure of the College Team to deliver a truly world class post-16 learning experience with the highest quality academic, pastoral and holistic care for. The team now comprises of:

Laura Dixon - Director of BG6 (curriculum, teaching and learning, exams, College oversight)

Sanam Ali - BG6 Respect Lead (student leadership, welfare, and attendance)

Aashiya Shiliwala - BG6 Achievement Lead (student achievement and progress)

Salma Illyas - Safeguarding link for Year 11 and BG6 (safeguarding)

Heather Green - UCAS Lead (Year 13 UCAS and Post 18 choices)

Iffat Ahmed - Careers Lead (Work experience, widening participation and careers)

Stacey Lister - BG6 student support and admin (bursary and study centre supervisor)

Pam Smith - Attendance link for BG6 (attendance and punctuality)

This structure is supported by a dedicated and experienced tutor team, and a talented subject leader team who are specialists in their field.
