Careers' support: a message from our Careers Adviser

Julie Tipper

Sixth form is a crucial time for your daughters' personal and career development and we are here to help with guidance and advice on their options.

Year 12:

This is time to reflect on what their interests and abilities are. They can use Unifrog to help them to focus their ideas – the Personality and Interests quizzes are a good start.

The Subject Search tool allows them to put in their current subjects and produce a list of relevant degree courses.

The Careers Library tool allows them to explore career ideas in the same way. I strongly recommend that they use these.

Throughout the year the careers team will send out information on webinars, events, and work experience (currently virtual). Please encourage your daughter to take advantage of these opportunities; the more awareness they have of their options, the more chance they have of making good decisions in the future.

Year 13:

Hopefully your daughter will have decided whether or not to go to university and I am here to support them with their decisions.

I work particularly closely with those who decide not to apply and keep the Employability Group up to date with vacancies and help them with applications.
